ICF Consulting Group, Inc. Firewall Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia


As a firewall engineer you'll be responsible for the configuration, deployment, and management of our customer s next generation firewall solution in a 24 X 7 X 365 environment. Additionally you'll assist in monitoring, configuration changes, accounts, and software updates while working alongside our team of cybersecurity experts.

This position is based out of our client office in Smyrna, GA just outside of Atlanta. Not based in Atlanta? Don't worry, we can offer you relocation assistance to help you get settled into the area. Our current opening is for a day shift position.

And we will help foot the bill for of those costly degrees, certifications and trainings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a subject matter expert for the customer s next generation firewall solution.

  • Maintain firewall operations and document current environment.

  • Incorporate change management into all processes and procedures.

  • Creation of technically detailed reports on firewall block lists, device status, change management, hardware/software upgrades, and other areas.

  • Analyze and evaluate anomalous network and system activity.

  • Assist in troubleshooting and problem solving a wide variety of client issues.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently hold and ability to maintain a DOD security clearance.

  • Security CE certification or equivalent DOD 8570 baseline certification

  • Ability to quickly obtain additional certifications such as Check Point Security Administrator or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience with managing enterprise firewall solutions.

  • Bachelor s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

  • Experience with Check Point, Palo Alto, or Cisco ASA firewalls.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA), Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) or other relevant technical certifications such as Source fire Certified Professional (SFCP), Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional (CCNA, CCNP), etc.

  • Prior experience with IT security devices such as Blue Coat Secure Web Gateway, Source Fire IDS/IPS, Symantec DLP, Nessus, Juniper SSL-VPN, and Fore Scout (NAC).

  • Experience with change control policy and procedures.

  • An understanding of DOD information assurance policy and regulations.
