Position Description:

The primary function of the Test Lab Technician is to execute test plan tasks associated with R&D and New Product Testing. This position may lead toward a career path to a Test Engineer position.

Major Activities/Key Challenges

Set-up, equipment rigging and running of industry standard and ad hoc testing

Collection of test data and analysis

General maintenance and calibration of testing equipment

Assembly and installation of materials for certified and proof of concept testing

Travel to outside labs, as necessary, to assist with installation and witness testing

Practice and enforce Arconic’s safety policies to ensure a safe work environment

Essential Knowledge & Skills/Education

Associates in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Building Construction Sciences

Experience in laboratory environment (building products preferred)

Knowledge of fenestration products within the building industry

Knowledge and operational skills of basic power tools and hand tools including drills, saws and basic bench hand tools

Able to lift materials up to 40 pounds shoulder height, using proper lifting techniques

Basic Qualifications:

Associate technical degree in engineering discipline such as mechanical, civil, structural or building/construction sciences Basic computer skills with knowledge of Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, Autodesk software (Auto CAD, Inventor)
